[Exim] var/spool/exim/input

Subject: [Exim] var/spool/exim/input
If I look at this directory I see that there are file dating back to Aug
2000. I thought that they were frozen messages, but I have deleted all
frozen messages (the correct way). I don't understand why they are still
there.They are obviously underliverable, but then why aren't they "frozen"

Any suggetstions?
