[Exim] reading mysql's dbm files

hi,

just curious (this is likely to be braindead enough, but worth a
question, i think..), newer mysqls can (do, in fact) use db3 as their
storage backend. can exim be told to read that file directly instead
of through a mysql-type lookup ? or even, does it make sense ?

that would avoid the overhead of the mysql query (you only have to
read anyway), and otoh, if you have to update things stored in a
database (think aliasfile, or anything else, for that matter) from any
other source (thorugh a web interfce, taken from a central
database, ...), it's more convenient to use sql...

comments ? anyone tried this yet ?
