We've started to notice mailing list messages freezing, which seems connected
with attempts to deliver to an domain name which resolves to the address
127.0.0.1 !
What seems to be happening is that someone uses one of these "Dynamic IP"
service providers, which gives their PC the same name every time they dial up,
with a dynamic DNS entry that points to their current (dynamic) IP address.
However, when they are not dialed-up, the Dynamic DNS server returns 127.0.0.1
!
I wonder if this is common practice?
The problem is of course that the mailing list subscriber can be on-line long
enough to subscribe, sending the confirmation message, etc and then go offline
leaving us with an interesting problem (and many frozen messages!).
