This is possible, but had disadvantages. See the documentation about
security=unprivileged.

Set SPOOL_MODE in your Local/Makefile.

Of course you can. Any director or router can send deliveries to any
transport, and you can set up a transport to do that. But if you do
that, messages will just go round and round in circles, unless you've
got some other program listening on port 25.
