Hi. I'm running exim 3.12 (probably with some security patches back
ported, since this is a Debian package; that's unlikely to have any
bearing).
One of my users is having problems with long header lines - it seems
that headers with reasonably, but not horrendously, long field data
gets split. He's sent me an email with a header consisting of 1000
identical characters - it got split about twenty before the end, with
the end of the first line getting a '!' tacked onto it. His specific
problem is with long References: lines getting mangled.
There isn't anything I can find in the FAQ about this, and the only
vaguely similar thing in the list archives appears to be about the
compiled-in limit of around 8191 characters. Similarly I can't find
anything appropriate in the specification.
Is there something I'm doing wrong here in my config, or is something
more intrinsic wrong?
Cheers,
James
