I built exim 3.20 on a Solaris 2.6 box with gcc 2.95.2 a while ago.
However, 3.22 is now out (which I built and installed yesterday) which
is what you should be using.

My guess is that either your gcc install is very broken or not in your
path or you broke something badly in Local/Makefile.
Try with a default Local/Makefile ?
