Hello,
I'm running what basically amounts to a two-user Debian setup to one
dial-up 56K ISP. I have one email address on the ISP (blades@???).
I call my Debian box "gnuked" and my primary user account on it is called
"rgdk." When my father visits, he sometimes likes to play Same-Gnome,
Solitaire, etc., and he's starting to show an interest in some of the
websites he's seen on TV. I created an account for him under the name
"underhill" so he can log on, see his own high-scores and what-not, and I
have a nice, safe area for him to play in where he doesn't have to worry
about breaking anything.
If it's possible, I'd like to share my blades@??? account with
him, using an MTA to forward mail directly to his account. He has no real
interest in buying and maintaining a system of his own, but it would be
nice giving him a way to communicate with other family members when he
stops by, who have their own email accounts. If not, that's okay too, as
I'm sorta looking for a good reason to procrastinate puzzling out exim's
docs until I'm alot more familiar with Debian. <grins>
I'm pretty new to Unix, only having a knowledge of Windows/Internet,
MS-DOS, and some C programming and BBS sysadmin'ing under my belt, and have
never used an MTA in my life. I'm just wondering if it's able to forward
mail to different local addresses from a single ISP/email account, and what
addressing method is used to accomplish the feat. If it's possible, I
figure I can grok the rest of the puzzle out on my own. TIA,
