I don't really understand the question. The data that is sent using
PLAIN or LOGIN authentication usually consists of a user name and a
password. There is no domain. So I don't understand what domain you are
talking about.

Of course, if you configure the client to send "xxx@yyy" as a "username"
you can pick out the yyy using ${domain:$2} or whatever.

In case you have misunderstood, authentication happens from the client
host before it attempts to send any mail.
