Many many thanks for your response. My network setup has been a 6 month
journey and this was the last piece. It turns out that there were
possibly several problems all centered on connection to port 25. My
firewall was, indeed not letting through connections on port 25. I added
a rule to ipchains and it now does. However, there were other, more
embarrasing problems. Chief was a mistake in the NAT on my cisco router.
I will be dropping off of the list within a day and coming back on from
my own mail server.
