[Exim] 8 bit characters in plain text ail

I a having great problems with sending 8 bit characters (specifically a
pound sign) n plain text e-mail.

I seem to be be going round in crcles a bt
I assume that if it is possible t would be something to do with the
headers.

It s a fairly serious prob as I want to move over from exchange and I
don't think this would go down too well with the boss

Any ideas would be appreciated
