what softare has a better manual?

when you ask "How to limit a message size" and if useres here answer:
"RTFM: message_size_limit"

don't you see any connection?

I used sendmail for many years,
this software has a very nice configuratin-file with very clear ruleset's.
maby you should try this;-)
