Phil,

Does the query need to return a list of addresses, or does it just need to
return some data? In other words is this sort of thing possible.

  senders = ldap;ldap:///o=bath.ac.uk?mail?sub?\
     (&(uid=\${local_part:\$sender_address})(employeetype=staff))
