[Exim] LDAP and addresslist

Is it possible to do an ldap query instead of supplying an address list to
'senders'?

I think it should be possible but I suppose I have not quite understood
what is needed.

I am trying to implement some closed mail lists (using forwardfile) and I
wish to confine senders to staff. Rather than construct a file full of
staff mail addresses (which I could do) I would rather just lookup the ldap
directory and see whether (employeetype-staff)

How would one do this?
