I stumbled also over such a error. The Problem is that i misunderstood what
exim was trying to tell me:
Exim does NOT tell you "I refused the message because i failed to find the
ip address"
Instead exim DOES tell you, "I refused that message for some reason, but i
can tell you only the ip address and not the name of the host"
Maybe that is also part of your Problem?
