Subject: [Exim] Smart mail host
Hi,

I am having some problems implementing a schem documented in the FAQ
(Q0325)

I have copied the two sections local: and internet: to exim.conf, and made
the appropriate changes. I then created an /etc/local_domains.list.

My question is: if I set the local_domains.list to simply:

magd.ox.ac.uk

then email to @magd.ox.ac.uk goes direct. However, email to
machinename.magd.ox.ac.uk doesn't.

The use of

*magd.ox.ac.uk or
*.magd.ox.ac.uk

means that @magd.ox.ac.uk and @foo.magd.ox.ac.uk go via the smarthost.

What do I need to set in /etc/local_domain.list to make all mail to
magd.ox.ac.uk and any levels above that eg foo.magd.ox.ac.uk go direct?

Also, how should the file be delimited? By line feeds or colons?

TIA,
