You might have simply switched to MBX format mailboxes. The default
UNIX mailbox is terrible. MBX is much better. wu-imapd and Exim both
support Exim natively, so you wouldn't have anything to do but tell Exim
to use MBX instead of standard UNIX mailbox format.
