My strategy is this:
First, reinstall exim 2.05 and attempt to rerun: I've just done this,
tried both command line post, and fetchmail. Same symptoms. When I ran
exim -bp, there was a msg in the spool from /etc/cron.daily/zmailer... no
such file or dir.. so I deleted this directory, rebooted, no change. This
tells me that code itself is running, but not able to correctly deal with
some situation
Then, upgrade to exim 3.10. I have some symlink issues to resolve. I'll look
on the debian site for the configuration utility, but figure worse case I
can do this manually
Then, when 3.10 is running, download exim 3.16 and updated
David
