Yes indeed. I (and I guess others) were all thinking of the much more
grandiose things that people mean when they say "mailing list".
If all you want to do is to arrange that mail to "somelist" gets sent to
a number of different addresses, then
(1) Set up a standard Exim installation that works for normal addresses,
both local and remote.
(2) Add to /etc/aliases the line
somelist: address1, address2, address3, ....
