Absolutely #2. I believe the tone and detail now found in the exim
specification at the exim website has the right tone. For newbies like me,
but with a broad technical background, not necessarily in depth on any
particular subject, I would recommend great detail in where things go,
explicit sequence and even textually cross-referencing the same material
several times. Anything that facilitates as a first goal getting up to
operational speed for a particular requirement
