I agree that something of the sort is necessary, but rather than an
explanation perhaps just some extremely brief references? I'd rather
not pay for more of this than is really needed...

(The rants on this topic can be saved for ASR. The short version:
dammit I can read documentation, why does it seem as if nobody else
can?)
