Encryption, digital signatures, that kind of stuff. But if you have a
filter that is messing with the contents of a message, you need to be
aware of all that anyway, if it's in use in your environment.
[I may take pity and put a check for "ends with linefeed" into Exim; it
would be fairly simple.]
