help-
I have looked high and low for an answer to my problems.
I followed the examples on
www.exim.org for setting up virtual mail domains. butfor some reason I just can't seem to get it to work. Are there any other online
resources. on this subject?
I actually had it working but it seems to be hit and miss. What I've done is
this.
I addded the following to /etc/exim.conf which was configured by the debian install script:
local_domains = "domain1.com:dbm;/customer/domains"
-AND-
virtual:
driver = aliasfile
domains = dbm;/customer/domains
no_more
file = /etc/mail/$domain
search_type = lsearch
Then I created the file /customer/domains_source which contains one line which is the
domain im hosting:
virtdomain.com
I then ran:
exim_dbmbuild domains_source domains
Next I created /etc/mail/virtdoamin.com with the aliases one per line pointing
back to a realuser at the domain1.com domain. (I left this as a plain text
file is this correct or do i need to convert it somehow?)
When I run /usr/sbin/exim -bt alias@??? I get:
realuser@???
<-- alias@???
deliver to realuser in domain doamin1.com
director = localuser, transport = local_delivery
however mail from the outside generates the following in /var/log/exim/mainlog:
2000-08-01 16:47:40 13Jjsx-00003X-00 <= ixnay@??? H=mail2.registered
site.com [209.35.159.13] U=root P=esmtp S=929 id=000f01bffba5$945fdfb0$3401a8c
0@???
2000-08-01 16:47:40 13Jjsx-00003X-00 ** alias@???: unknown local-
part "alias" in domain "domain.com"
2000-08-01 16:47:40 13Jjsy-00003Z-00 <= <> R=13Jjsx-00003X-00 U=mail P=local S
=1704
2000-08-01 16:47:40 13Jjsx-00003X-00 Error message sent to ixnay@???
2000-08-01 16:47:40 13Jjsx-00003X-00 Completed
I'm sorry this is a bit long but I wanted to be clear on everything as to
hopefully get an answer.
Thanks
