The superior compression quality of bzip2 over gzip has been pointed out
to me. I have therefore made a bzipped version of Exim 3.16 available in
ftp://ftp.csx.cam.ac.uk/pub/software/email/exim/exim-3.16.tar.bz2

The size is 912929 versus 1192811 for the gzipped version (23% smaller).
As I update other files (documentation, FAQ) I will arrange for them
also to be available in both forms.
