The difference is that nobody replies to and send mail to a POP3 or
FTPd server, and they DO reply to and DO sendmail to Mailer-Daemons.
Its a question of context. What do you normally do on an FTP or POP
server? You get things. What do you normally do with email? Reply
(well, delete actually, but that's the preferred silent case).
