Georg,

oops, sorry, I didn't make that clear, I think. I have that 'root'-problem
only with ssmtp, not with exim. The ssmtp program is suggested in the exim
FAQ, but it's not really adequate. Does anybody have any examples for using
exim as a backup mx that writes to a file when the primary mx is offline and
some for etrn handling when the primary comes online? It would help me a lot
