I don't understand the phrase "dot locking". Also, Exim does not use
flock(). It uses either lock files or fcntl() or both; the default is to
use both, and I would guess that the FreeBSD port leaves the default
alone. Check the options for the appendfile transport in the runtime
configuration file.
