Certainly with mailman you can define the domain the list exists in.
I've only done some brief testing, but I set the address for the list
to list@??? and set in my virtual domain for foo.bar.baz;

list: list@???

it gets to the right domain to be handled by mailman, but all the
addresses are in the virtual domain.
