How true. PC software often does weird things to filenames. Why
didn't you just download the tarball to your UNIX machine (which
you obviously have, if you're trying to install Exim)?

And, BTW, did you download the file in binary transfer mode (as
opposed to "text")? On command line FTP clients, it's achieved
by the command "bin".

Righto. Don't trust Windows software.

InfoZIP is PKZIP-compatible. Very nice. Still, don't use winzip
on the file.
