The Cisco firewall solution. It has one magic trick which allows it to
act as a proxy for all manner of protocols so it can do clever
hand-offs to different machines for virus scanning, for example. (I had
a presentation yesterday discussing the relative merits of the Cisco
and Lucent FW solutions; good timing :)
It looks to me like the messages are getting processed external to Exim
by something else. I would seriously doubt the integrity of whatever it
is you're handing those messages off to with the PIX, myself.
