I'd be grateful if anyone could shed light on the following problem.
I'm using Exim 3.12/Solaris and all is well with the exception of Exim
incorrectly rejecting hosts that have more than one IP address, for example:
lime.ease.lsoft.com (209.119.0.43, 209.119.1.41)
The error in the exim_rejectlog is:
------------------------------------------------------------------------
1999-12-08 22:27:17 connection from [209.119.1.41] refused
(209.119.1.41 does not match any IP address for lime.ease.lsoft.com)
------------------------------------------------------------------------
...which is different to the error for the correct rejection of a host
where the reverse lookup fails:
------------------------------------------------------------------------
2000-01-05 11:53:07 connection from [192.26.45.234] refused (failed to
find host name from IP address)
------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the case of the lsoft.com host, I've prodded their DNS with the
usual lookup tools and their DNS seems squeaky clean.
I'm left to think that the problem must be with my Exim configuration
or my DNS.
