Yes, it should. I tried this example with a trivial director, and of
course it worked fine for me. So there is something subtle going on
involving your configuration. I guess you'll have to send me a copy of
your configuration so I can look at that.

Notice that in the first case the address ends up as london@???
and in the second as london@???. That indicates
something odd is happening.
