That idea is neat. However, I found out that for my problem,
|virtual_domains:
| driver = smartuser
| domains = partial-lsearch;/etc/exim/virtual_domains
| new_address = ${lookup{$domain}partial-lsearch{/etc/exim/virtual_domains}{$value}fail}
with
|root@q[25/525]:/etc/exim$ cat /etc/exim/virtual_domains
|domain.example.com: target-address
|*.domain.example.com: target-address
|root@q[26/526]:/etc/exim$
suffices ;-)
I left your configuration in anyway, it will be needed for more
complex cases.
