Tárgy: [Exim] asking for a complete solution
Dear Gurus,

What I'm asking about must be a pretty standard configuration, and yet I was
unable to find a complete cookbook recipe for it either in the Exim
documentation, FAQ, or this list archive. I saw lots of stuff that looked
promising, but to make sense of it I need time that I don't have now.

A couple of days ago I bought a modem and got it working properly with my ISP
under MS Windows 95 and Linux. In the latter case, I've got a PPP connection
established and can surf the Web and read my Webmail at leasure.

What I'm looking for is however a possibility to get mails to my host and reply
to them locally, and have them delivered to the outside via the ISP mail host
as a relay.

The basic setup is as follows:

My computer:

    - Debian Linux 2.1 (inluding exim that works OK for local mail)
    - dial-up configuration with external modem
    - no private LAN

ISP:

    - analog line
    - PPP, name server, proxy for http, ftp, etc.
    - dynamic IP addresses
    - SMTP for mails from me to the outside world
    - POP3 or IMAP4 for mails directed to me

Extra challenges:

    - I have different user ids at ISP site and at home
    - My computer has an internal hostname that is not registered anywhere

Can anyone help me resolve this bundle of questions?

Best regards.

Alexander
