The AMaViS project (A mail virus scanner) project is the best starting
place to look - it has information on Unix available scanners which
will plug into it.... linux is rather better supported than Solaris
here.

The project does not currently support exim - if someone has it working
can they tell the list about it and contribute changes back to amavis -
however since both sendmail and qmail are supported, it would not seem
too difficult to put it into exim.
BTW if you are doing virus scanning from within the system filter, look
very carefully at the system filter section to the main docs - for
example doing your virus checking in a
if first_delivery ...
conditional will stop you multiply scanning things....
