[Exim] multiple rcpt to

Please ignore the possible ignorance here...

We have just setup EXIM 3.03 on Solaris 7 (x86) and it is in the mode that
doesnt run unless being called <?>

I noticed that whenever I send email thru it and it has multiple recipients
(like 4 or more) EXIM will hang on each RCPT TO for a few seconds.

IS this a conf setting somewhere or inherent to EXIM?
