[Exim] Linking files and directories

    I am getting the following error when linking a file to a
directory outside of /var/mail.
T=local_delivery defer (-4): mailbox /var/mail/g/gh/ghopkins is not a
regular file

The link is as follows
lrwxrwxrwx   1 popmail  popmail       25 Oct 28 10:02 ghopkins ->
/nfs01/mail/g/gh/ghopkins

The drop file is as follows
-rw-------   1 popmail  popmail     5814 Oct 28 09:59 ghopkins

    Is there anyway of telling Exim to follow links and write to the
drop file?
