Cyrus is a mailbox storage system. It has IMAP and POP3 servers.
I don't really understand your mention of an MTA. This is an Exim list,
so I'm assuming that you use MTA. MTA is just for tranporting mail. Your
MTA does not dictate your local delivery mechanism (well some feature-poor
MTAs do actually limit local delivery options).
