Hello,
I am in the process of moving a lot of mailboxes from a machine running
sendmail to another machine running exim.
The mailboxes are the only services the users have in the machines, no
login, nothing, just pop3 mail.
In the sendmail machine, the users had no home directory, just a line in
the /etc/passwd file. (which contained a homedir field that does not
exist).
When I try to do the same in the exim machine, local delivery fails
with this message:
1999-10-13 13:25:42 11bMXO-0006U9-00 == teleutrera@???
D=userforward
defer (-1): userforward director failed to stat /home/teleutrera (No
such file o
r directory)
I figured out that, since users won't be using forward files at all, I
could comment out the userforward director part.
But then delivery fails with this message:
1999-10-13 13:27:38 11bMZF-0006aO-00 == teleutrera@???
T=local_delivery defer (2): No such file or directory: failed to chdir
to /home/teleutrera
I am sure there is an easier way to do this.
Thanks in advance.
