qualify_domain doesn't really hide the hostname. It simply "qualifies",
ie. adds a domain to an address lacking a domain. If your MUA generates
address with the domain, then the qualify_domain option has _no_ effect.
You are probably looking for an option similar to Sendmail's
Masquerade feature (DM). You said that in smail it is called
"visible_domain". The name suggests that it is also a masquerading
option, to "hide" internal hosts and sub-domains. Exim doesn't have
such an option, but masquerading can be achieved with the rewrite
rules.

You have probably set your local_domains option to contain "psg.com",
which you should remove. It should only contain "roam.psg.com".
