I run 3.03 and tested the following with pine, dtmail and mail in
different ways: any exim-processed mail becomes mutated in the way that a
line beginning with a "From" becomes a ">From" if there are other
characters following.
So this "From" should remain untouched:
From
While this "From ..." gets changed:
From me to you (q.e.d)
Meanwhile I reproduced the same behaviour with exim 1.92 (sending to a
sendmail hosts and vice versa) which leads me to the thought that this is
either a bug in exim or a platform-dependent problem on HP-UX across OS
and compiler versions.
Maybe Philip can shed some light on this.
