I'm a newbie, so please just pat me on the head and send me
in a direction to follow.
For days now I've been trying to build and install an email
agent other than sendmail for my sparc 2 running NetBSD.
Qmail and Smail both won't build, so I checked out Exim and
saw that it would compile under NetBSD. I dl'd exim-3.02 and
tried to build it, but got this for a build error:
# make
*** Sorry - operating system netbsd is not supported
*** See OS/Makefile-* for supported systems
*** Error code 1
Stop.

It did make a build-netbsd-sparc though. I know there's a
Makefile-NetBSD, which I copied in the Local dir (with the Makefile also
in the Local dir), but that didn't seem to help either. I've checked
the mailing list archives and the FAQ, but I didn't see anything that
would help me. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong and how I can
correct it? Trying to find something that will compile is starting
to drive me batty.
