Try to watch the panic log and the memory usage, the number of
processes, the swapping, and other system info.

BTW, do you have hard or soft limits on the memory usage of the
processes? Also, try to change the following options in your
kernel configuration:
INET_SERVER
KMEMSIZE
DFLDSIZ
DFLSSIZ

These are not in the default kernel config, but you can add them:
NMBCLUSTERS
NKMEMCLUSTERS
MAXDSIZ
MAXSSIZ
