This appeared on the bsdi-users mailing list. Should not be of
any interest to sensible people who don't do Windoze (like me).

Subject: Why blocking by subject WON'T WORK.
Date: Thu, 01 Apr 1999 10:39:53 -0500
Due to several mails that I have gotten based on my note about Subject:
line bouncing, I'm going to post this to the list so I don't have to
keep repeating myself.
Yes, I know about Melissa, HOWEVER....
Incase you had not noticed, the Melissa virus has now come out in about
8 different flavors, none of which have the same Subject: line.
In addition, today on Bugtraq, there was a posting that pointed folks to
a new, polymorphic version of Melissa that, on first glance, uses this:
BreakUmOffASlice.Subject = "Your mail".
Should everyone now start blocking things with "Your mail" as the subject?
The fix here is to get the Microsoft platforms secure. Blocking by subject
line is BROKEN BROKEN BROKEN.
