I'm running exim version 1.92 on one of my mail hubs (yes, I know it
should be upgraded, especially since there are things in 2.1x at my
request).
But before I upgrade, I would like to know whether the problem I am
experience will be fixed by upgrading, or whether I have just
misunderstood the docs.
If I have a config with a line like
sender_host_reject_recipients = "partial-lsearch;TABLES/hosts_reject:\
+allow_unknown"
I appear to still be rejecting messages which come in from hosts that
fail a reverse lookup. The addition of +allow_unknown should according
to the specs (for 1.9x) give me what I want. (Well, actually what my
bosses want, but that's another story.)
Yet, the reject logs and a test with -bh indicate that messages which
don't have a proper reverse lookup are being rejected.
I have also tried putting +allow_unknown into the file
TABLES/hosts_reject, but that doesn't appear to do the trick either.
Is this a known bug in 1.92 which is fixed in later versions, or have I
got something wrong?
