Replacing sendmail with exim was pretty easy. It's almost a
drop-in replacement.

The handling of majordomo mailing lists on our site is not
different from what we did with sendmail (/etc/aliases has
aliases for mailing lists and owners). Everything is piped
throught the majordomo script. Check the FAQ, it has some more
useful info.

I don't know anything about Hypermail, though.

I assume you already have IMAP and POP3 daemons installed and
running. They should work.

Ok, this stuff is easily configurable and there is some info
about that in the manual and, I assume, in the FAQ.

Oh my. What do you need such beast for? I mean, RAID? It's
more than you need, honestly. But if you want to do parallel
delivery of your mailing lists (more than one process), and have
high mail traffic, install much memory.

Good, exim is designed for SMTP.

Here, all the mail is delivered locally (except of some mailing
lists). But we don't have as many users and mailing lists as you
do.

I'm not going to do that again.
