Yes. It is a link step only, so uses LFLAGS as distinct from CFLAGS.
Is this not culturally correct for Unix? You have to remember that for
nearly 20 years I was an MVS person, and prior to that used other
systems where compiling and linking were entirely separate things,
called by different commands.
