There are ways to do it. If you are rewriting for yout local
domain, you can do:
*@dom.ain ${lookup{$1}dbm{/wher/ever}{$value}{failaddr}} Ehq
In your alias file, "failaddr" is something like:
failaddr: :fail: Rewriting failed.
The real question, though, is what exactly you mean by failing
the message completely, and what and how you are rewriting.
