The problem with that is that SOA records are updated even less
frequently than WHOIS data, plus name service is frequently maintained by
a 3rd party.
Postmaster is unreliable in a compromise, if WHOIS is out of zone, that
tends to be best (also for problems with the zone), but it seems these
days most people put contact info for a domain in the WHOIS data, so it's
not nearly as useful as it could be.
