Hi!
I have two systems running exim that are not MX for the domains they
receive mail for. One of the systems is behind a firewall and gets its
mail by SMTP from the ISP's mailhost (which happens to run sendmail);
the second is behind a dialup line and uses fetchmail to retrieve from
a POP3 mailbox.
Since I believe that exim's RBL support verifies the host from which
the SMTP connection is coming in, I cannot use it because the SMTP
connection always comes in from the ISP's mail host in the first case
and from localhost in the second case.
Do I have a chance to verify against RBL, ORBS (if it will be around
in the future, see nanae for details) and the DialUp-Port-List for
example by having exim check for Received-Headers containig one of the
bad host names and/or IPs?
Any hints will be appreciated.
Greetings
Marc
