Subject: [EXIM] Autoreply director help
I've been assigned the task of looking into how to support an autoresponse from
users which is autoconfigurable....and I'd like anyone that has played with the
autoreply transport to voice an opinion. I've looked in the documentation and
reviewed the mailing list archives....which helped a bit.

Basically,a LDAP database would contain a message to send to users that send mail
to a local user and a flag that says there is a message to send. I would think the
following would be possible:
-set a director that does a LDAP lookup on the flag for the user (${local_part})
-somehow if the flag is set, the message would go to a autoreply transport which would
grab the file to send from a LDAP lookup
-the message would be sent

I am a bit new to exim, but have played with smail for a while. I am wondering
if the above sounds remotely possible.

The other option is of course have an external program check the LDAP database
for the autoresponse request and deal with sending the message.

Also, is it possible for exim to continue down the directors list once a director
has been matched?

Any assistance would be appreciented.

Mark
